“Your Love Means Everything (Part 2)” by Faultine featuring Chris Martin
Lonely Sunday sounds.
“Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap
Methinks I’ll never tire of this one.
“Quelqu’un m’a dit (Someone Told Me)” by Carla Bruni
Still not over my (500) Days of Summer buzz. Bear with me.
TRANSLATION:
I’m told that our lives aren’t worth much,
They pass like an instant, like wilting roses.
I’m told that time slipping by is a bastard
Making its coat of our sorrows.
Yet someone told me…That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.
Well ? Could that be possible?I’m told that fate makes fun of us,
That it gives us nothing and promises everything,
When happiness seems to be within our reach,
We reach out and find ourselves like fools.
Yet someone told me…That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.
Well ? Could that be possible?Well ? Could that be possible?
So who said that you still loved me?
I don’t remember any more, it was late at night,
I can still hear the voice, but I can no longer see the face,
“He loves you, it’s secret, don’t tell him I told you.”
You see, someone told meThat you still loved me
Did someone really tell me?
That you still loved me
Well, could that be possible?I’m told that our lives aren’t worth much,
Passing in an instant, like wilting roses,
I’m told that time slipping by is a bastard,
Making its coat of our sadnesses. That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.
Well ? Could that be possible?
“Last Goodbye” by Scarlett Johansson
I’m probably one of those rare people who didn’t think Anywhere I Lay My Head was horrific. She covered this for the soundtrack of He’s Just Not That Into You, and I don’t think it’s half bad either.
She’s not setting out to be the next great singer or anything so at least you can appreciate the fact that the material she chooses to cover is great stuff to begin with that probably means a lot to her. Even if she can’t do much with it given the less-than-stellar vocal chops that she has, at least you can admire her taste.
“Romeo and Juliet” by Dire Straits (via oldfilmsflicker)
This always reminds me of that scene in Empire Records when AJ’s trying to muster up the courage to tell Corey how he feels about her.
“Lazy Days” by Leona Naess
Wide-eyed and stupid
I’m waiting for the arrows of cupid
This is a sentiment I hope to never feel again.
Love.
Bah.
“When I Finally Get My Own Place” by Aqualung
You don’t need to be lonely, you don’t need to be lost
You don’t need to know what you’re living for
You don’t need to be lonely, you don’t need to be lost
You don’t need to know what you’re living for
You just knock on my door
You don’t need to be sure
This one’s for you.
“Needle in the Hay” by Elliott Smith

I can’t beat myself
And I don’t want to talk
I’m taking the cure
So I can be quiet wherever I want
So leave me alone
Richie Tenenbaum always breaks my heart.
“Lullaby” by Jim Chappell

This song reminds me of my prepubescent heartbreaks. I used to have this album on cassette tape, and it would lull me to sleep without fail.
