W Magazine’s Best Perfomances of 2011 by Mario Sorrenti
P.S. I used to be a radio slave and sometimes I also contribute to a film blog. I'm part of a pioneering online enterprise.
Re-posting this since I can’t reblog my own post from back in March. You know you wanna watch it again.
Lynn Hirschberg’s Screen Test: What movie made you cry?
Featuring Annette Bening, James Franco, Natalie Portman, Michael Douglas, Mila Kunis, Mark Ruffalo, Helena Bonham Carter, Justin Timberlake, Dakota Fanning, Andrew Garfield, Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, Melissa Leo, Vincent Cassel, Julianne Moore, Robert Duvall, Jesse Eisenberg, Elle Fanning and Colin Firth.
It doesn’t take much to bring me to tears when I’m watching a really emotional scene. I mean, I could barely get through Finding Nemo’s opening sequence. And of course, Up. And those are just really recent ones. If we really wanna talk about bawl-inducing movie memories from my distant childhood, when Littlefoot’s mom died in The Land Before Time. I was 7 years old and that was just too much for me to take. I think that has something to do with the fact that I refuse to see Bambi.
Of the non-animated variety, Kramer vs. Kramer, I Am Sam, One True Thing, Dying Young (sorry but I’m a total sap like that), Philadelphia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, some parts in Erin Brockovich and I could just go on and on.
I hate to admit it, but I’m pretty sure Titanic got to me the first time I watched it. Oh, and Peter Jackson’s King Kong.
Lynn Hirschberg features Rooney Mara’s transformation into Lisbeth Salander in W Magazine. Maybe I’ll finally get around to watching the copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo I have collecting dust here.
P.S.
Yes I’m a lazy twit who’d rather watch the movie than read the book.
